The Nelson City Clocktower faces were originally lit as an unnofficial Light Nelson project in July 2018 (Power to The People). A few month later in December, Nelson City Council provided funding to install lights perminantly. Since then the lights have been used for several projects and to highlight various events and charities (Charity Events)
